The unveiling of Nova Peris OAM OLY Statute of Equality by Public artists Gillie and Marc Schattner took place at Fed Square in July 2021.
As the Project Lead, Kokoro Consulting was responsible for delivering this event from inception to end.
The project aims to elevate Australia’s inspirational women publicly, starting with Novis Peris, a proud Aboriginal woman, Olympic Gold Medallist, and the first Aboriginal woman elected to Federal Parliament. The launching of this statue in the heart of Melbourne – the sporting capital of the world, is yet another tangible step towards gender and race equality.
Only 1.5 percent of Victoria’s public statues depict women. More of Australia’s inspirational women will be recognised and acknowledged for their achievements through this enduring art form.
The program aims to foster amongst girls and boys a belief that they can achieve anything.

The aim of the Tuning in to Kids (TIK) Bush Fire Recovery Project was to partner with early years’ service providers in East Gippsland to deliver TIK Parenting programs to parents and carers living in East Gippsland in order to build the capacity of both parent and child.

This approach helps both the child and parent/carer to better understand and manage their emotions which leads to better outcomes in life, greater resilience and connection.
